Facebook Groups

My name is Kris Hutchinson.

Today I want to talk a little bit more about Facebook.

Every business needs to have a Facebook page as a way for you to get your information out there. 

People can come and like your page. 

Years before having a Facebook page was awesome, because people who liked it would see a lot of your content.

But what we’ve been seeing lately is Facebook has not been showing page information on people’s walls, as much as we’d like to see.

So how can we kind of get around that?: what we’ve been seeing is that Facebook groups are actually being shown more to people’s walls.

I know when I scroll through my Facebook, a lot of the things that I see, if it’s not from immediate friends and family, is a lot of stuff from the groups that I’ve joined.

So creating a Facebook group is going to be very beneficial for your business. 

And it’s a place where you can actually have a community and grow that relationship.

You’re able to post there. 

Your community can post in there as well, and you’re able to reply to them, and just have those conversations there.

And it’s going to be seen by a lot more people, especially the people who’ve already joined the group. 

Now, as an advertiser, we like to take those groups and say, ‘okay, well, how can we find more people to join this group?’.

Right now Facebook doesn’t have any kind of means of targeting specific people in a group. 

So how can we get around that?: You have the ability to put a video in your group and you can post that to the very top of the page and pin it there.

So that way anybody who joins the group is going to see that video. 

And that’s a great thing to do, because you’re able to target people who have watched that video.

So you can tell your ads specifically, ‘anybody who’s watched this video for more than five seconds’, we want to target them.

Rhen we can create a lookalike audience based on the interests of those people. 

If you don’t have a Facebook group created already, I will challenge you to go ahead and create one and invite the people who like your page. 

Start really trying to grow that community.

Post different things there daily. 

If you have videos, if you have other content, maybe you have a podcast, it’s a good idea to go ahead and post those things there so people can see it and you can start actually growing that community.
