Begin With The End
Hello, my friend and future millionaire.
Welcome to this episode of The Money Wheel.
My name is Don Shade.
In this episode, I’m going to do something a little different.
I’m going to share a story with you.
Now, the first thing I want to point out here is this: I want you to be well aware of what it is that you’re going to be proud of.
Back several episodes ago, when we first started putting together your Million Dollar Roadmap, one of the things I pointed out was: I want you to start with the end in mind.
So the story I’m going to share with you is this: Khris and I, and the other two coaches that were involved, we put together our entire training course for Money Mastery.
And I’ll be honest with you, at the end of it, I was very proud of it.
I was pleased at the way the product turned out.
I thought, ‘this is a great course that’ll really help a lot of people’.
‘We’ve covered everything that I want to cover’.
‘It basically walks people from beginning to end, as far as helping them get their finances together and different things like that’.
It was all kinds of stuff, as far as building wealth.
Here’s the problem, we built the sales page for the course, basically what you’re going to see online to sell it.
And I was no longer happy with that part of it.
The reason was this: When I looked at that page and I read down through all the sales copy, nothing excited me.
And I thought to myself, ‘we have to be able to do something better here’.
That’s when I made contact with a friend and a business partner at this point.
Some of you have already heard podcasts from Andrea.
She is a copywriter on my team and she’s an excellent copywriter.
She looked over everything having to do with that landing page, and she said to me, ‘Don, do you want me to be honest with you?’.
‘Or do you want me to sugar coat it?’
And I said, ‘well, you can be open and honest with me’.
‘I’m fine with that’.
And she goes, ‘basically the whole thing sucks’.
And I knew that because I wasn’t excited about it.
I didn’t feel proud of it.
Basically, Kris and I sat down and wrote that landing page; the sales page for the product.
And I just didn’t have the feeling where it excited me.
The reason I’m sharing this story with you is: what happens when you do a portion of your course that you don’t feel you’re excited about, or you’re not necessarily proud of it?
You don’t feel that it relays the message that you want to happen?
If that starts to happen to you, it’s time to reach out for help, maybe with a copywriter or just to have somebody else that you know, and trust, lay eyes on it and give you an honest opinion.
Now, Andrea is a top-notch copywriter and she went through and she redid the landing page.
When she was done with it, I was back to being excited about the project, because when I read down through the landing page and the sales page for selling the product, it excited me by what I read.
This happened to me, and it happens to everybody the longer that you’re dealing with something: you’re creating that project, what you don’t realize is it takes more and more to excite you because you’re dealing with the same thing day after day.
As we were putting that course together, I was very excited about the way it was turning out and how we were going to be able to help people.
But when it came time to put the message together, to be able to sell the product, I’m just not good at it.
It’s not one of my strong skills.
And Kris is a computer guy that does the technical end of things.
He’s not a copywriter.
So what we had to do was reach out and get a top-notch copywriter that was familiar with us, familiar with our course and set it up so that we were able to start selling the product.
And it brings the excitement back when I read that page, because it relays the message that I want to get out to people.
This is just one of the things I wanted to make you aware of.
And that’s the reason I shared that story on today’s episode.
We’ll see you next time on The Money Wheel.
