Hello, my friend and future millionaire. 

Welcome to this episode of The Money Wheel. 

My name is Don Shade. 

There’s something I want to point out, and I’ve gotten some questions on it from different students. As we move forward, one of the things you hear me talk about is putting a team of people together to handle the things that I’m not good at, or just to handle the things that I don’t necessarily like to do.

Let me make something very clear, just so you’re aware of what’s going on, because some of you have never worked with a team, you’ve never been in any kind of leadership position; not that that’s a bad thing, you just don’t have that kind of experience. 

What I want to make clear to you is that when I put people in a position where they are taking care of stuff in my business, I always make sure that I know exactly what’s going on.

For example, people that run Facebook ads for me and do different forms of advertising, we talk on a daily basis.  And usually when we talk, it’s first thing in the morning. 

What is something that I want to know when we talk:

What happened yesterday in my business?

Now, do I know how to jump on and run a Facebook ad?: No. 

Do I have any interest in learning?: Not really. 

I can hire people to do that. 

What I want you to make sure of is, when you put people in positions like that, where they’re running ads for you or they’re writing emails, make sure that you’re getting daily updates on where things stand.

This is how a lot of businesses get into trouble, because they think, ‘okay, I’ve put this person in the position to handle it’, and they’ll let a week go by and this person may be handling it in a way that seems fine to them. 

But the problem with that is, it’s your business.

It may be fine to them if it was their business, but the fact that you’re running it and you’re paying these people, you’re the one in control.

You need to be the one that is setting the standard: ‘this is how I want to have my business run, 

even though you’re doing this for me’. 

When I talk to my Facebook person every morning, they know two things are going to happen:

Number one, I want to know the totals for the day. 

  • How many people looked at our page? 
  • How many people liked it?
  • How many people did we have opt-in for our free lead magnet? 

I’m also going to want their opinion on the different ads that we’re running.

This is working well, this isn’t working so well. 

I’m going to change this. 

You need to be active in your business every day, even the parts that other people are running.

Because, just for a simple example, just because they know how to run ads, they’re good at running ads, they may not be business people. 

You’re the one who has the business mind. 

This is your dream. 

This is what you’re building.

For these reasons, make sure you maintain control of it and you’re running your team the way it suits you to walk down your Million Dollar Roadmap.
